I am not familiar with that model. I would post that question on the equipment forum. Again, in my opinion, I want a protein skimmer that allows the bubbles the maximum amount of time in contact with the water. Usually a tall column is used, but I have seen ones with a vortex action that might be as good. Then religiously keep it clean.

i wouldn't use a cpr backpack on a 90 gallon tank. the reddish slime is cyanobacteria. do a google search or even a search on this forum and you'll fine many threads about it. it's from excessive nutrients. evaporation is inevitable. top off with FRESH water, not salted water. only the water evaporates, not the salt.
