Help ID coral

I was hoping someone can identify the slender piece of coral with polyps in the attached picture. It was a hitchhiker on a piece of live rock and I've had it for about six years I believe it must be photosynthetic. Thanks!

That would be a type of caribbean gorgonian. I'm only aware of the photosynthetic variety that come out of the caribbean. If I remember correctly, they are related to star polyps and grow as you see them rather than in a mat...though don't quote me on that. They were pretty popular here several years ago when they were 'rediscovered' in the hobby as those of us in the hobby were buying non-photosynthetic gorgorians by the truck load and killing them off faster than you could blink. They have fell off the radar again some in recent years.
