i have a mag12 return pump; a 36 watt coralife turbo twist UV sterilizer. my temp is hovering at 84.4 to 84.9. heck at the rate my temp is going i may not need my HYDOR heater.

any ideas guys on how i can control my temp? one thing ive thought of is to run the sterilizer on a timer. prolly running at night time. what do you guys think?

How big is your tank?
What is the ambient room temperature?
What else is in the tank (equipment)?
Is the heater turned off?
What is your lighting?

Have you tried using a fan or two to blow across the water?

I agree with the fan.Dont believe its your UV. I run mine 24/7 and my temps stay at 75 all the time

i have a 130 gallon tank with a fuge. on the fuge i have my heater which ive set to 75 right now. i have a skimmer(in-sump) and a mag7 (in-sump) as my return pump. i too have a mag24 on my closed loop.

36" AQUALIGHT - SINGLE LINEAR STRIP

nope i havent considered this option yet. because with the kind of light i have, i dont think i need cooling yet.
