Hi. I have a clam (crocea) that I placed in the substrate in front of a piece of live rock. He got himself on his side and has started to attach to the vertical surface of the rock. Should I try to remove him or put something under him to level him out? Here's a pic. Thanks so much.

I don't know if they should be laying like that but I do know they attach to rock when they happy

Yeah he seems to be doing well so I think he's happy. I pushed a bunch of sand under him so he's a bit more upright but it seems like he should be all the way upright.

I wouldn't try to move him. Clams have sensitive feet, and if you forcefully try to remove it from the rock, you might severe something important. I would try to help it point to the light, so it doesn't get malnourished.

You have to make sure you dont damage the cord that attaches to something solid. Many a clam has not survived that had that damaged.
