Help with old Triboro MH ballast

My lighting hood (as well as other parts of my tank) were given to me so I don't know any history about the various parts. I don't know how old my MH bulbs were when I started the tank about 5 months ago. I have two 150W (10K) MH bulbs right now. The ballast says "Triboro" which is apparently the brand name but I haven't been able to get any info on the internet about it. I'm mainly wondering if I can put 175W bulbs in. 150W don't seem to be sold much.

Maybe someone happens to know where I can get info on Triboro MH ballasts.

Well I just found this on MarineDepot.com:
Quote:
Can I operate a ballast and lamp together which are designed for different wattages?
Each wattage lamp and ballast are designed together for optimal performance and safety. If you over drive
the lamp it may explode and shorten the life of the ballast and lamps. If you under drive the lamp it will also
shorten the life of both components and also may explode. Do not mix different type wattages of lamps and
ballasts.

yea if your trying to put a 250 bulb in your 150 ballast yes that would be an issue but a 175 its that much of a difference!

check with darrin at captive reef hes allot more experienced than i but i dont see an issue at all
