Hermit Crab Skin?

I got 4 hermit crabs in my tank. This morning I saw what seems to be a dead hermit crab, but when I counted my crabs there are still 4 hermit crabs although 1 is more inactive than the other 3. My question is do hermit crab shed their skin? If they do, what do I have to do with the dead skin? Shall I remove it from the tank or just allow it to be consume by the other inhabitants. Thanks again.

Yes, the split their skins like all crabs.

The shed skin can look a lot like a dead hermit. No need to remove it. It will be consumed by other tank inhabitants soon enough.
