I just picked up 7 little blue legged hermits 2day and they are doing a great job cleaning the tank. Where could I get shells for them, for the shells they outgrow?

Most LFSs will have spare shells you can buy for a few cents. I would be cautions of using shells gotten from other places as they may have been treated with something.

Yea my LFS always just gives me empty shells he gets in on orders or if a snail dies or something. He has never charged me for them so you might just check with your LFS and ask them.

My LFS told me my blue leg hermits did not need a new shell to move into, he would keep growing the one he is is in..... was that not true?
Thanks,
sorry if I'm hijacking your thread.

Hermits do not create the shells they live in. They will kill a snail to get the shell, fight another hermit for their shell or pick one up that they find.

I agree with Allen, hence the name "hermit" crab.
