I've read that GH isn't as important as KH, but I'm gonna ask anyway.

I was all about my tanks last night. I added 2 angels to my freshwater setup and got some new zoos for my reef, and I had planned a water change anyway. I pulled out the ol' test kit and decided to check the reef. Everything looks ok, pH is a little low (7.7), and my salinity is 1.024 so it could stand to be raised a hair. When I checked the hardness, I got to 60 dGH before I quit adding drops. I thought "this is ridiculous!" But when I checked the KH, it was 9 degrees.

Should I be worried about it being above 60 dGH? The water I use comes from a RODI unit at the LFS.

What brand of salt do you use?

Next time you mix up some saltwater, test it after it's set 24 hours, before you add it to the aquarium.

What kind of substrate and rocks do you have in there?
Decorations?
