I just recently added a 4 inch Hippo Tang to my 90 gallon aquarium. He seems to be acclimating extremely well, however, the only thing I have found he will eat is caulerpa. I have a Yellow Tang that will eat flake food, caulerpa and nori.

I am concerned that this won't be a ballanced enough diet for him to survive. Can some folks suggest other things I should feed him or tricks I can use to entice him to eat nori or flake food?

Thanks in advance.

I would just give him some time. Eventually, he will notice the other fish eating the nori and flake and investigate.

i cant speak directly for a hippo, but i would agrre with hara. i recently added a bi color angel to my tank. he liokes to graze on algao the rocks. my clown fish started following him around and now the clown will ocassionally graze on the rocks and glass as well. he never did this before. i bet the hippo will learn from the other tang
