I made a thread a month ago and a couple of days ago about DIY live rock on the DIY thread but got no replies. I was hoping anyone one on here would b able to answer my questions. So I made some live rock about 3-4 weeks ago during July 4th weekend. The rocks are made out of Portland Cement and Salt crystals (no crushed oyster shells or crushed coral). I placed the rocks in a 30 gallon container and do water changes every day for 3-4 weeks now. I'm curious how long I should keep these rocks in water before I place them in my 55 gallon reef aquarium. I've heard that one way to check if the rocks are ready are to check the pH, but I don't have a test kit ATM. Does anyone have any advice about how much longer I should wait until my rocks are ready for my display tank? Thanks!

Buy a test kit, while it cures it will drive the ph of the water sky high. It should take a month or two to cure. If you try again I have heard to add straw. During the curing process it will rot away leaving holes in it's place.
