How can I split this

I'm selling a piece to a buddy if mine, how can I split it while keeping both pieces alive? it grows like a weed if you can tell by pic it is purplish green any help will be appreciated

Looks like a Kenya tree! Any piece will grow I am sure! Just cut a stock off and good to go
