How deep of sand?

I was wondering how deep my sand bed needs to be. I have a 29 gallon tank with 20lbs of live sand it it but put it in after my rock so I think its alot deeper then 20lbs normally is. how deep should it be for these fish>

1-2 inches for a regular sand bed and about 4-6 Deep sand bed. i keep my sand bed in my dt about 2-3 inches and a untouched 5 inch deep sand bed in my refugium

There is a middle ground between a SSB and a DSB that is not ideal. I believe around the 2.5-3.5" mark. Too deep for aerobic bacteria and not deep enough for anaerobic bacteria. However at 1-1.5 you're perfectly fine.
