a small cup + frozen cube of brine + some tank water

Let the brine sit in the tank water till its thawed out. Then pour out the tank water straning the brine shrimp so they stay in the cup. Then lower the cup in the tank and mix the shrimp up with fresh water from the tank and then pour in.

The liquid the shrimp are frozen in can be very high in phosphates. Thats why we strain it off.

8O Thanks for the heads up Fishfreak. I usually just hold mine under the filter flow while it defrosts. Didn't even think about what was contained in the liquids that stuff is frozen in.

OK, I have a question, I have been feeding frozen cooked shrimp, I put it in a grinder and chop it into small peices and drop a few in still frozen. This has been "flash frozen" using plain water. Should I do it differently? I don't want to hurt the little guys :D
