Any ideas how I can secure this to something so it doesn't tumble all over ?

Is it a coral? I would glue it to a piece of rock using superglue. Loctite gel superglue is the preferred brand, because it is safe for your tank. Just glue in place and turn off your powerheads for a half hour to let it set. I ahve glued a few corals in this manner now with success.

This is a leather. They are better off being rubberbanded to a rock or maybe pressing it between 2 rocks for a few days until it attaches. They are pretty hard to glue because they slime up as soon as you touch them.
