Since my Yellow Tang is territorial with newcomers, I was thinking of putting him in a QT for a bit while I put the new fish in the main. How long do you think it would take for him to "forget" and think it's a new place when he goes back in the main?

not sure how long, or if they even would. What I would do, put him in the QT, add the new fish and re-arange the LR a little bit then put the tang back in. With the change to scenery you'll probalby have better luck than just taking him out for a little while.

agree. I did have luck putting my purple tang in the QT for 3 days.

I'm really trying to avoid rearranging the rock. I'm going to try the "vacation" method. I'll give it at least 3 days. Maybe a week.

Any one ever watch the Mythbusters episode where they test the myth that goldfish only remember things for 3 seconds....... the myth is very wrong :)
