How long for sand to become "live" in a refugium?
I just setup a refugium for my 90 [acronym:b968605af6="Gallon"]gal[/acronym:b968605af6] with extra aragonite sand that I plan to use to establish a 10 [acronym:b968605af6="Gallon"]gal[/acronym:b968605af6] for a mantis. How long should I expect it to take for the sand to become "live"? [acronym:b968605af6="For your info"]FYI[/acronym:b968605af6]... I already have [acronym:b968605af6="Live rock"]LR[/acronym:b968605af6] that has been in my sump for a year that will also be used in the 10 [acronym:b968605af6="Gallon"]gal[/acronym:b968605af6].

Shouldnt take about 2 weeks to have the bacteria growing on it. You might want to throw a peice of [acronym:bd939db891="Live rock"]LR[/acronym:bd939db891] from the display in there to speed things along even faster.
