How many gallons are my tank and sump?????

Hey guys,

I picked up this system from a friend and he doesn't know the exact details.

I went to lfs today to price a new sump so I cant maybe try and replace this one that I sort of just threw together from the former fuge they had setup.

The guys asked me the tank size and I didn't know. Obviously that would help when picking out a sump.

Here are the measurements:

Tank:

Height - 24 inches
Width - 24 inches
Length - 48 inches
Gallons - ????

Home Made Sump:

Height - 16 inches
Width - 16 inches
Length - 32 inches
Gallons - ????

This is commonly sold as a 120g tank. It's actual volume is 119 and change, if those are internal measurements, from inside glass to inside glass.

The sump is approximately 34g and change, if it is filled to the top and those are internal measurements.

In the future, i'd like to upgrade my sump (quality wise). I just threw this together and I am not sure how it will work yet.

What do you think would be a good size to go with to compensate for overflow and such?
