How many of you have surface skimmers?
I was wondering how many of you have them? I have a layer of crap on the surface that i would like gone. Also how do you clean them...or even better how do these work? Would you say just scoop the crap off insted?

I did that and it only clears a patch of it. I guess i could point another one up there, I just dont want to take too much flow away fromthe body of the tank.

They are the best mod. you can make to a skimmer! My skimmer produces about 10x as much skimmate as before and my water is much clearer-top to bottom. HTH
