I was changing the light above the tank..I had the connector hanging on the side of the actual tank. Anyway I saw something fly off the connector and don't know where it went. don't think it went into the tank just don't know.. But it could've been plastic or copper wire or whatever.. but my question is if it was a piece of copper wire or corrosion from copper wire or studs, how much would be poisonous to the tank? Sorry if this is worded funny.. just didn't know how to ask it..

Even low levels of copper can be detrimental to lr/inverts. I’d find whatever fell in the tank asap. The metal isn’t going to start leaching right away but it’s best not to leave it in the tank. Fish are safe up to a .25 ppm level but any inverts, lr, coral, shrimp & some snails will die at even low levels.

It wouldn’t hurt to have a copper test kit on hand either.

Yeah That Fish Place Keeps there copper at .25 ppm. They keep a little in there system to kill off unwanted parasites
