How much would you pay?

How much would you pay for a 55-65g acrylic tank? I'll have to add the slots to make it a sump, but not too sure how much I should pay for just the tank.

It would probably be cheaper to by a glass tank if your looking to make a sump out of it. is it used or new?? There are lots of good deals otu there oyu just need to be lucky enough to find them.

i would go with the glass also. they are a lot cheaper.there are lots people are trying to get rid of their glass aquariums. if you were to get an acrylic i wouldnt pay more than $100 for one, of course depending on new or used and the condition that its in.

You might be able to get a cheap deal since you only want to use it as a sump. It does not matter the condition of the tank only that it does not leak.

Maybe try craigslist:

Hmm I'll have to check that link out, I never heard of it before. My LFS is selling a 55g sump with the bafflers and bulk-head fittings for $169.00. Sounds pretty cheap compared to if I bought one for 100 bucks then had to buy all the glass/parts to make it myself.......
