Did anyone see the cow fish tank? About 20 cowfish with tons of tangs and other large fish, including a lionfish I believe. A recipe for disaster.

There is another thread about that one. A person said they live near there and went to the place. There was another company there scooping out dead fish. They lost a lot of their original stock.

I haven't watched the episode yet, but I've seen the Dunkin Donuts tank in person a few days after they put in all the fish a month or two ago. It was horrible to see them all dying in there. :(

On another note my dad made the donut thats around that tank lol

My wife and kids love the show and think I am an idiot. They always say those guys are experts and put lots of fish in at the same time. They want me to run my tank like those guys. . Thanks ATM.

I think I might cry.. I just spent the last 30 or so minutes typing out an email to Brent King from Tanked.. I was almost done when the computer glitched and now my whole email is gone... sigh..

In short, I was respectfully telling him basically what has been/is being talked about on here.. I know its a long shot that he would ever read it, much less take it to heart, but at least I can try. Hey, if we ALL send him emails, I am sure he would have to read one of them eventually..

oh well..

You are right and they are wrong. Tell them not to believe what they see on tv. ;-)

So I checked out the tank today, as I said I am a FW guy, yes I fish a lot (being I live right on the water and my job is at a Marina) and know SW species (the ones you eat) I just don't know the ones they put in tanks....There was a total of 12 fish in the tank, I took some pics of three fish at the top that didn't look like they were doing that well. The presentation itself is impressive, the reef or whatever the heck it was looked cheap, as stuck on cheap, if I would have paid for that I would have told them you got to do better than that. There is no place for fish to hide, the corals looked stuck on, my wife said it almost look like a maze and it was disappointing.

The link from the Palm Beach Post says its 75 gallons and it would hold 20 fish. When I looked at the tank it looked crowded. So if they put in 20 fish that means 8 have died? No way 20 fish should be in a tank of that size. Most of the fish were 5 to 6 inches or more in length. Like I said I know zero about SW fish so I have zero clue about bio loads etc.

Thanks for the pics! I will have to rewatch the show to see if any of these fish were added during the shows taping.

The doughnut shape is impressive acrylic work but the backdrop was pretty plain. Still okay for a few damsels probably.

It was extremely pain and disappointing, I have been to this location before and they built the area for the tank (curved wall)

On another note the food and service was horrible, we have another dunkin down the road that has been there for years and years and they make their food to order (you can sit down inside and order off a menu) and one of the guys that works for me at the Marina part time works there and always takes care of his boss, it has been a while since I have been to a regular Dunkin and it was horrible at best.

I would think the tank was expensive to build and having some knowledge of the budgets most cable shows spend per episode, I doubt they got any deals. How does a doughnut shop afford this? Dunkin Doghnuts didn't pay for it did they?

I would think the franchisee would have paid for it out of pocket and used it as marketing. Would be very interesting to see the store revenue/sales numbers before and after the tank install. Just curious.

HAha my dad made the doughnut and the cup. The tank itself is unimpressive.

Was your dad in the show? The workmanship looked good on tv. It's just the no cycle system of ATM's and introducing too many of the wrong type of fish at once. Maybe there is more after sale maintenance we don't see.

I have seen two of their tanks now and both seemed very "Hollywood," by that I mean bright and for show. I was at valley view casino in San Diego and also the gum all tank on the strip in Vegas. The casino tank is huge, something like 30+ feet with a boatload of yellow tangs. They all cruised together which was pretty cool, but they did only have two angels and a few other tangs. Probably close to 15 or so yellows and another 20 or so other fish total. I did however notice that there was little to no algae growing throughout and there was a few sand sifters as well as a full cuc. The tank actually looked immaculate. The gum ball tank was a bit worse. The light naturally is going to play a factor on an outside tank, but when I saw it, they actually had it inside the building not outside where it was when they filmed it. It was full of anthias and a few other "colorful" fish, stock looked close to if not the same fish they originally put in and that was a few months ago. Both tanks were completely different but the casino tank really impressed me with how clean the tank was. We stayed a few days at harrahs down the way but stopped on the way back and it was still just as immaculate.

Hell no he doesn't work for atm. I hate that co. He owns his own co and makes things for them occasionally. the tank is completely separate from that.:) I also dont like the way they set up tanks and add loads of fish. I was talking they come into my lfs where i work all the time,
