I caught my mantis shrimp!!

We saw some eyes popping out of a rock. I grabbed it out, and dropped it in a bucket of RO water and out he shot. I scooped him in a little plastic cup with a slitted lid, and presto!!

Now....what do I do with him? Refugium? Sump?

a few folks actually enjoy keeping them but they can be troublesome for most aquariums. You might find a fellow reefer in your area (or driving distance anyway) who might be interested in him. Or a LFS may be interested in buying him from you.

ask before you just hand him over to a lfs...our lfs feed the one we got to their trigger. just so you know what they plan.

well, I caught it. It is not the one I was hunting, however. I was hunting a green one, this one is golden. I'm starting to wonder just how many of those suckers I have in there. I've heard no clicking, nor have I seen any split snail shells. But they do have clubs and not spears. I'm near Houston if anyone is interested.
