you get what you pay for in lighting, that light you bought will not be enough plus its a 36" and you have a 48" tank. The difference is in the ballasts. I have also seen a lot of reviews about cheap fixtures catching fire. Do some research on lighting and what you want to keep in your tank. The most important things are light and skimmer. that light will work for fish only

The light I posted I just bought for my 48 gallon bow front it is 36".... Is there any other one that is less expensive? Or anyone else know something that will work?

Your gonna spend at least 250.00 for a decent light, and that's at the low end.

That's better than $500-$700.
