i got bio balls but no chemical

I have a wet dry filtration system for my aquarium but the small wet dry filter did not come with a chemical filter so i just put some carbon bags next to the spot where all the watter passes through. Is this ok. Is there a reason why it only came with bio balls.

What you did is fine. As long as the water passes over it, you are fine. I don't think many of the wet/dry filters come with carbon. Same with canister filters. They make you buy your own.

BTW, what wet/dry did you get? I am sure one of our members can verify if it should/shouldn't have come with carbon.
