I have a nikon d3100. Settings for best actinic pics

What is the best settings to take pics of my tank under actinic lighting. Custom settings. Thank you.
 
Well you want the shutter as fast as possible with your apperature being as small as possible (number wise). My lense only lets me to f.5.6 so I use that with a shutter speed of about 250 under my bright LEDs. The tough part is the white balance. You won't find an auto wb that doesn't just turn the picture blue. I use the manual whitebalance and use 10000 k which is as high as my nikon d90 will go. If you can go higher go for it. Also I like to put a polarizing lense on, this creates the effect of your camera wearign sunglasses so it evens out the super blue a bit, makes it look more natural.

Then I use photo editing programs to adjust till it looks the way I like it...lol
