I have a SeaTesT Hydrometer

to test my water's salinity but a friend of mine was just told that she needs a refractometer (and the cheapest looks to be $80!). Is my hydrometer sufficient?

thanks!

Refractometers are much more reliable. I purchased mine on ebay for about $40 with shipping. The hydrometer will work but is not ATC(automatic temp compensated) and can be hard to clear of bubbles etc.
