netal halide. a couple days ago i went to menards and i was looking for a light for the stand im making. while i was in the lighting section i saw a metal halide shoplight for 60$. i think it was 500-600 watts. so... thats alot of light.. im not sure if it comes with bulbs

im sure you can get a smaller watt at home depot or somewhere

Why not shop on EBay? I bet you'll find 150 watt MH for under 30 bucks + shipping.

i thought those spotlights were for hanging in warehouses. big ol ceramic or glass housing things. talk about generating some heat.
