So I was cleaning some rock and moving some around. I noticed one of my emerald crabs was just resting on a piece of rock. After about an hour of labor I saw him still there. So I gave it a slight touch and it didn't move. Assuming he had molted, I pushed on him a little and he got loose and floated in the current. I caught him and pulled him out thinking it was his exoskeleton but when i was trying to show my fiancée where the crab gets out of his exo, I couldn't find the hole. I noticed the flap on it's underside was loose so I thought, hey that's where he got out. I opened it up and inside were about 75-100 eggs! Did I kill the crab!?!? She wasn't moving! Would the eggs have been fine in the body if it were dead? I had two emeralds and now the other will be lonely. Is it normal for emeralds to reproduce in captivity?
