I think my snapping is from pistols...

I think my snapping is from pistols... I was on another Isopod stakeout last night and located two shrimp sharing the same hole. The shrimp were a little longer than a 1/2 inch. I watched them for close to an hour. They are clear and appear to have claws that pointed out in front of their heads. One of them however, came out and either snapped or rapped at a passing hermit's shell. It was loud!
Will Mantis share a hole? The claws out in front were very hard to see. I'm not even positive that it wasn't a shadow or something.

I think if you had a Mantis those shrimp would be toast.

I have had clicking in my tank since I added LR almost 3 months ago.
Last night a tiny clear shrimp or shrimp molt was floating around the tank.
So I believe all my clicking sounds are from a Pistol.

I'd bet yours are from the same.

Thats good news if its pistol shrimp. I also believe if it was a mantis, those shrimp would be history.
Sounds like you are OK.
