I think that I may have an infestation of fireworms in my tank!

Pretty big. And gross. I hate those things! Get on YouTube and look up aquarium worms. Might find some good videos and see something like what you have

Well, from what I understand the bottle trick works. Take the top of the bottle where the taper starts, and cut it off. Stick it in the bottle so the top of the bottle is inside. Tape it up, and throw some bait in it. If the worm goes in, it can't get out

This is a bristle worm.​
 
I realize that i forgot about a major roadblock with this plan. Ok so here's what happened. I quickly made the thing and put some bait in, what happens? My sand starts to boil and all of my nassarius snails pop out of the sand and surge towards the bottle. I forgot about them.....NOW WHAT!?
 
IMO there`s nothing to do. Bristle worms are good janitors and help to keep the tank clean.
 
You could try a wrasse or a Bi-color psudochromis
Just read up first on their diet to double check.
