Is a scratch on glass fixable?

Wondering if there's a way to repair scratches with out using toxic chemicals? What's safe?

There is a powder you can buy to buff it with.i forget what it's called though. I think it takes a lot of work to do it though.

Thanks hope someone that's done it can help me out a bit more. Guess there's hope though!
