I have had FOWLR for 3 or 4 years now with no problems. I recently switched everything from my 65gal setup to my new 125gal setup. Water quality is fine an everything is in check. But before I start trying corals I wanted to know if it is still safe to run my canister filter with activated carbon and poly filters? Im going to be doing soft corals only as well.

Thank you.

I agree, but I usually run purigen, it lasts longer, does a better job and you can recharge it....

It's probably even more important to run carbon in a reef setup than a FOWLR. Especially with soft corals. Carbon (or Purigen as roka noted) will help neutralize the normal chemical warfare that goes on between corals in our closed little ecosystems.

Awesome. From what I was reading I didn't think it would hurt anything. But I wanted to make sure the poly filter (since it removes phosphates) didnt have anything bad in it for the corals too.
