Is it okay to press up polyps to the glass? I have this HUGE colony that is on a HUGE peice of rock...having no where to place it w/ enough stability, I find that I have to place it near the glass. After I was done I noticed that about 4 polyps are pressed up upon the glass. I know that they won't open up so are they going to die and poison the tank?

Fragging it would be your best option, as mentioned. If you can't when they do die they most likely will not hurt the tank. Nothing regular water changes can't solve  Curious, what kind of polyps??

The polyps if you place them real close to the glass will eventually start to spread onto the glass. I got some button poylps starting to grow on my overflow now.

Oh, sorry about not replying. Just regular button polpys that I picked up from a great place. HUGE peice for only 20 bucks!
