I have had a new flame angel in my tank for about three days. It seemed to be doing fine and was swimming and eating this morning. I noticed this afternoon that it was not swimming around. I later found it on the bottom being eaten by my hermit crab.

Do yo think the crab is capable of catching and killing a flame. The fish was about 2.5 inches long and the crab is about medium size.

What type of hermit crab is it? If it's just one of the little scarlets I doubt that it killed your fish. I had a huge strawberry hermit kill a pearscale butterfly when it was sleeping, but that crab was very large.

Doubt that your hemit killed that fish. The fish in too fast . Thats just your cleanup crew at work.
sorry for your loss though :(

yea, I'll second QS's comment. It's likely something else did in your angle and the hermit is just picking up the pieces.
