Is this good or bad!

also any ideas as to what kinda of algae it is(the brown stuff)?
All I know is its growing VERY slowly but its growing over my coralline and that kinda bothers me.

Is the algae soft? Does it come off in a smooth sheet or just sort of disopate when disturbed? Or does it just stay on the rock?

I used to have that and it pissed me off to now end. It gows in rond circles and covers things up with nasty brown sheet. It looks like a lichen. I had to pull it out in sheets, and then it started to go away when I was very vigilant about removing it and skimmed the water very well.

I would have to say it comes off in pieces. it doesn't "crumble"

Is is slimy(sp) its hard to tell from the pic... if its slimy the it could be cyno.. you said it is brown,,,, is it growing on the sand at all.

No the sand is pretty clean. And no its not slimy at all
