I've had my sump/refugium up and running for about a year or so I guess now. Should I clean it? All I do currently is prune my chaeto back every 2 or three months. I guess I'm half scared of what I'll find in there!?

Well that is two of us then. I just prune my calerpa and that is all. My clean up crew down there takes care of cleaning.

I agree I don't think cleaning the fuge would be a good idea. Mine has been up and running for a year now also and all I do is trim like you guys. I think the whole idea of the fuge is to leave it alone and let it do its thing. I guess you could call one thing I do cleaning I use my magnets to keep the glass clear so I can watch the goings on in the fuge but that's it...

That's a good idea--I don't have any cleaning crew down there, so I guess I'll get some crabs and snails and let them take over.

Mine has been up for over 3 years and moved twice. I do add some nassarius snails on occasion.
