Kalkwasser mix

So I'm gonna start doing a kalk drip into my sump. The directions say to mix powder with water in a container, then let it sit for hours to settle, then toss the first, third, & fourth layers keeping the second. Anyone know a better way or if this is the best. Thanks
 
I never heard of that and in fact I never saw kalk separating into layers. Mix 2 teaspoons for 1 gallon of water to make a saturated mix. What settles on the bottom are usually the impurities in the kalk powder.
 
what they are saying is you don't want what settles on the bottom of the container and you don't want what floats at the top. You want the clear liquid in the middle. Most people use a dosing pump and have the tube tied to a rock so that it stays off the bottom
