I guess the only thing left to add here is be sure you are also checking the Mg levels. Heavy kalk/buffer additions are notorious for precipitating Mg from solution. Low Mg (>1200 ppm) wil generally be the cause for Ca levels escalating out of control while alk additions are impeded or dropping.

Mg should be approximately 3x the Ca level when the chem is properly balanced and with NSW levels.

Thanks Steve. I did the test yesterday and it turns out my Ca level is a little out of control. Anywhere between 550-600. 8O I'm just going to quit dosing for now, do a water change and hope the levels drop soon.

Get an Alk test. You need to check both Ca/Alk. Ca alone can't tell you enough.
