Knowing when the cycle of your tank is done?

I know that a tank takes about a month to cycle and my 35 gallon has been cycling for 2 weeks. I've been switching out the shrimp every day. My nitires reads 0 as well as the nitrates. The ammonia though reads 0.25. Is that what you're waiting for is ammonia to hit 0 and be able to say it's fully cycled?

No. First it has to climb. Then it will start to fall and nitrites will climb. Finally that will fall and nitrates REALLY start to climb.
Don't change the shrimp daily. It has to start to rot to create the ammonia. Just when it starts to do that you're pulling it out.

Or dose to 4ppm pure ammonia. I like to do this because it is easier to control the exact levels of ammonia. JMO
