While I was vacationing in Jamaica, I bought a large conch (sp?) from a street vendor that I though might be neat in my 30 gallon cube tank (fish/lr/inverts). My mother brought up the idea that perhaps something that the shell might have been treated with (to make it glossy or something) might leach into my tank water and mess with the chemistry. Does anyone have any insight on this? I don't know what could possibly be done to it, I didn't think of it at the time.
