Lava rock: Good, Bad or Ugly?

Other than the complete lack of any life forms on lava rock are there any problems associated with using it in a marine tank? tia

Lave rock contains some hard metals that can leak out and be dangerous to your tank. I believe this has been discussed on here before and people have suggested not using it.

I am just repeating what I have heard, you might want to wait and hear advice from someone who understands the chemistry of the rock a little better.

look for lace rock, its cheap and comes in neat formations, I have about 10 lbs of it in my tank as filler rock
