lawn mower blenny

I am thinking about getting a lawn mower blenny to help get rid of some of my algae in the future and I was wondering if they would eat flakes or frozen than just algae. Thanks Btw, I got about 30lbs of lr from science teacher yesturday for the emporer and the flame angel (has some alge I want to get rid of)

I had one for several years and not once did it eat macro algae or prepared foods. From lights on to lights off it would scrape the tank surfaces for film algae though. I have heard some say it may accept prepared foods but it has not been my experience so YMMV.

Cheers
Steve

Mine eats prepared food, film algae, as well as some hair algae. Mostly the film algae off rocks, glass and decor. My kids get a kick out of it because it looks like he is beating his face against the rocks and glass.

Mine will only scrap the rocks and the sides of the tank. Never have I seen him eat prepared food.
