I have a bunch of white debris on the top of my rockwork. I use a turkey baster every day to flush it off the rock but it returns. I know most of it probably falls back on the rock. I have a pretty good cleaner crew of hermit crabs a peppermint shrimp and 2 emerald crabs but am a bit short on snails. Only one astrea. What is that snow stuff?

Are you adding anything like kalkwasser or pickling lime to increase the Ca ? If so, you can "max out" what the system can react and precipitate out white calcium carbonate ( basically chalk) and it does look like snow falling through the tank.

I am not adding anything but my calcium is quite high.....580 or so. I know, way high. I will try some water changes and see how that works.
