I just bought a 96 Wt 50/50 CF 18" kit for my 10 gal......

Should I just bolt it on and go, or will it stress the inverts in the tank if I just turn it on?

Also, how many hours a day should I run the light?
 
If you have corals in the tank I would recommend doing sme type of phot-acclimation. It can be as easy as reducing the amount of time the lgith is on during the day. Start with three hours and increase it by 30min every few days. Since it is CF lighting it is not as much of a concern as if it were a MH upgrade. Here is some more info...
