What is a good kelvin rating for a light for a 5.5 gal nano reef tank?

From what I understand you need 10,000K but I am not a reefer or ever had saltwater so I would wait for confirmation on that.

We don’t rate our lights by kelvin. We are more interested in par and pur. Then it would also come down to the type of coral one wants to keep as they also have drastically different lighting requirements.

Both measure the radiation, light, in the system. It is a good measure of what your corals need.
The meters are pretty expensive, so usually you'll see shops or hobby clubs with them.
