Lighting and mirrors

Has anyone ever worked with adding mirrors to the outside back of the tank to help maximize and redirect light? I was thinking that it would be a good way to get light to some hard to light areas.

Any ideas on the concept?

I had a 10 gallon wiht a mirror as a back cool lookin tank.. never thought bout the light hting.. but it sprung a leak so i took ti down :-/
