yesterday i picked up an corallife 38w 36" light fixture and i was wondering if i could actually grow any corals. i plan on building an aqarium the dimensions would be 36" long 10" wide and 12" deep

no. you need more light. way more light

the dimensions of your tank are nice for coral though.

I just want zoa could you tell me how much light I would need for my tank?

The coralife t5ho fixtures are sub par at best. However, over a 12" tall tank you should be fine for zoas and LPS.

Hmm. So the depth of the tank helps but the actual gallons don't have a lot of affect at this depth?

The further away from the light source the weaker the light is. Its a short tank so the light can support higher light coral than if the tank were 24 inches tall.

Gallons of the tank really arent a factor.

Thank you! The other Idea I had was a 5 gallon rimless running 20 watts the dimensions would be 10" length 10" width and 12" height

What fish would you recommend? I'm getting all the supplies this weekend and starting a stocking list
