lighting requirements

24 long 17 deep 12 wide 20 gallon

36 long 17 deep 13 wide 30 gallon

both have about a 2 inch sand bed

i'm wanting to get enough lighting to put any kind of coral in the the tank that i kind find that in my price range so basically how much light would i need to sustain all types of coral. i know some are low and some are high but i want enough light to sustain all kinds of corals.
i dont really intend to keep anemones i have heard they require MH but if i could get a lower light anemones then i might look into it. so if someone could shed some light on this for me i would appreciate it

If you want to do any kind of corals, MH is the best route. The depth is the important part. Since you're looking at 12-13 inches, I would go with a 150 or 175. Each MH covers 2 feet, so you might need 2 on the 36 length.

cool thanks for the info. i think for the time beinging and budget i will just make sure to put high light coral directly under the light and low light like mushrooms and such further to the side
thank again for the info
