Ok I had a glass top on my tank and I got rid of it and went with a wooden canopy. Now my lights seem to be getting hotter and heating up the tank. I am afraid that my light will burn up. I have two fans on my hood. they don't seem to do very much was wondering if you can somehow mount some fans on the back of the wooden canopy and where would I get them? TIA

You can mount fans on the canopy, most people use computer fans.

Before you add more fans let see if you can improve your current situation.

You mention a canopy and a hood. Are they the same or two different pieces?
Are your fans on the canopy or on the hood?
Where are they located?
Does the canopy have holes in it for air exchange?
sides, top or back?

I have a wooden canopy that has a long hole in the back for air exchange. The hood is my light fixture for my pc which have two small fans on them, which are located on the back also. How would you connect these computer fans to a power source?
