Hi there,

Can anyone help me to list down the types of corals suitable in lot or moderate lighting enviroment?

Thanks :D

How low of light are we talking about?

Mushrooms and soft leather corals will do ok in lower light but there is still a limit on how low they can go.

Hmm, how low?

Lighting issue is alway being such a debatable question.

Many factors considering in lighting setup.

Low or moderate lighting may/could be refer to using normal FL light or combination of compact power light (e.g. corallife 10K/20K kelvin, 15watts), actinic lighting (e.g. zoomed actinic light 18watts)

Strong lighting may/could be refer to Metal halide lighting, VHO lighting.

Its also relitive to tank size.

Oh and Power compact florecents put out just as much light as VHO.

For example on a 55 gal tank.

4 X 40W NO florecents would IMO be classified low light (160W)

4 X 55W PC florecents would be IMO calssified as moderite light (220W)

2 X 150W MH with 1 VHO actinic IMO would be classified as strong lighting (410W)

Ok I get the idea. Else, we wll be drifting out of the topic from coral to lighting.

Based on the low/moderate light, what kind of the soft corals will be recommended?

So let me begin with the list.

1. Bubble coral
2. sea fan
